He has been involved in federal criminal litigation for over 30 years, the first 11 as an FBI Special Agent working on fraud and organized crime cases, and then as an Assistant U.S. Attorney prosecuting many of the largest drug and fraud cases in the Southern District of Texas and Middle District of Florida, where he was based over his career. In 1994, Todd left government service to devote his efforts to defending the rights of others accused or under investigation by government authorities for alleged wrongdoing. His efforts as a private federal criminal defense lawyer have been recognized with his inclusion in the publication “Best Lawyers In America”; his position for six years as a Board member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and his appointment as a professor of trial advocacy at Stetson University College of Law. Todd has defended many cases in the national spotlight, including U.S. v. Aisenberg; U.S. Seawatch Corp (Club LaVela); U.S. v. Ware (Gabon Sting case) and U.S. v. Andrew Welden. In addition to these high profile matters, Todd and the team at TFLG regularly defend business people and a variety of individuals in their federal cases.
